Creative backgrounds for your senior photo session.

Its all about location, location, location!

Some of you may have heard this while watching some show on HGTV or a realtor say this when they show a home to their potential buyer. Well, I'm here to tell you that location is one of the many keys that help make an amazing senior photo.

One day on my way home from work, I decided to take a drive in downtown Dallas to test out a new iPhone App called PocketScout. This is an App that many photographers should use to create a database of potential locations for their future photo shoots for their clients. And you know what? It really works! It actually records the GPS location so you know exactly where you shot the photo and even records if you were facing north, south, east, or west.

Here are a few locations that I shot with my iPhone 5 to show you of some great backgrounds to create an amazing senior photo.

Pink, black, white patterns. This is an awesome background for a senior photo shoot. Can you see yourself using this for your senior photos?

Red. This is great for someone wearing a cool contrasting color like black or gray. Sickening!

Zebra print walls with a ramp can really give you all sorts of angles and possibilities for your senior photos.

I found these three red mailboxes in front of a gallery. What a great prop to use for a senior photo session.

When you do your pre-session consultation with your photographer, collaborate on ideas of how you want your photos. Do you want your backgrounds to be bright and colorful? Natural with trees? Props to sit or stand on? The possibilities are endless. So, don't be afraid to give him ides that you have in mind. Remember, these are YOUR senior portraits that you can make all your friends envious.
