Sometimes life throws you a few unexpected surprises. For my dad, this award was a big surprise and one that he wasn't expecting at all. His talent for the arts made me realize where I got my artistic talent. This is a tribute is dedicated to my late father, Junior Terry Afalla.

Today is my mom's birthday and also the anniversary of her passing. Its been one year and there hasn't been a day where I haven't thought about her. Being vulnerable to write this took a lot out of me. All I ask is that you have an empathetic heart when you read this blog entry.
